playdough – massa de modelar, massinha
Sometimes I don’t know in English the equivalent of certains words in Portuguese. Most of them, words that are around us and are part of our daily life. Some of them we learn early on in life like the one in this post. I never thought of “massinha” until I came across it on another blog. Playdoughs are those colored dough (massa) that we love to play with when we were kids in kindergarten. Dough is the word that means “massa”, any mixture of flour, water and other ingredients to make cakes, pizza, bread etc. So, there is cake dough, pizza dough, bread dough. A playdough got this name because it’s similar in texture to cooking doughs.
